Running my first 5k in State College, PA in just under one month!
Anyone in the area care to join? :)
I’ve lost 15lbs in the past month! And no starving or anything like that. I’ve been eating cleaner and more sensibly when I have to eat out, and I’ve been training for a 5K that’s in July. I officially revamped my journey on May 1, 2012, and I feel great. I’ve been using the “Ease into 5K” app on my iPhone to train, doing running circuits about every other day to start getting into shape for my 5K (I have screenshots of my runs under the “Workout” link on my page! Check them out!). So proud of myself, and it’s only going to keep getting better from here. We can all do this!
Numbers aren’t everything. I’ve only lost twelve pounds, still ten over what I weighed the last time I wore these pants, and they look even better than they used to!! Omg Best. Feeling. Ever. :D
I got my first run in this evening!! God, it felt good!! Granted, I was huffing and puffing pretty much the entire time and had to walk it out a bit every few minutes… But the hardest step is always the first, and gosh darn it, I finally took it! I was out for about a half an hour, which consisted of two laps around the elementary school across the street from my apartment, up into the neighborhood behind the school for a bit, then down about 3-4 blocks to the gas station on the corner, around their parking lot, and back to my apartment. No idea how far that is, haha, but it felt good. Even when I wasn’t running I was walking at a pretty kick-ass pace, so I feel pretty good about myself. All in all, I burned about 230 calories. And shit, did that feel great :)
Oh my word. Thank you all so much. I never, ever, EVER thought that this blog would take off like this. Now, I know there are folks out there with 1,000+ (AT LEAST!!) followers, but I’m just so proud of hitting 200 and am so very thankful for each and every one of you. You brighten my day and encourage me to keep going. So thank you all!

And my parents were up for a visit, and I was showing them around the office and when I turned around in the copy room they were looking at me and smiling. I asked “What??” and my mom just looked at my dad, smiled, and said “Doesn’t she just look so trim?”
My past few days / this past week have been absolutely insane! I picked up a third job and then my mom came out for a few days to help me find somewhere to live (until Monday I was homeless as of mid-July. But we finally found a place!! ), plus I’m attempting to have some semblance of a social life on top of it all. Overall, though, I can tell y’all that I’ve at least managed to stay somewhat on top of my diet, although I haven’t been keeping up with my workout routine as much as I’d like But I’m determined to get back on track tonight (after job #2 for the day!) and tomorrow, because I’m taking the weekend - or at least Saturday - off from my diet altogether (it’s my grad/faux-21st party!! Partying it up and probably drinking/eating way too much… but hell, I’m due for a celebration!!)
PLEASE get on my case starting Monday to make sure that I get back on top of everything, back on track, and back in gear! Kick my ass if I don’t!!!
